I’m Kevin J. Mellis, and for over two decades, I’ve been committed to supporting children and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. From navigating the complexities of emotional regulation to managing the impact of anxiety and sensory processing issues, my work has always centered on making a tangible difference in the lives of those I serve. As a Canadian Registered Social Worker with advanced degrees in Child and Youth Care and Social Work, I have consistently seen how simple, effective tools can change a child’s life for the better.

My career includes 15 years as a Medical Social Worker on the Critical Care Team at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Working in both emergency and intensive care settings, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact therapeutic tools can have on children facing intense emotional distress. A comforting presence, like the "My Little Buddy" puppy, often provided immediate relief and contributed to stronger emotional resilience over time.
